Before Transformers: Age of Extinction hits theaters this June, fans will be able to take part in this epic battle between Autobots and Decepticons in the upcoming video game Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark. Activision has released the first trailer for this game, which was previewed at Toy Fair 2014 in New York City this weekend. Take a look at the new gameplay footage, then read on for more details about this game.
While Activision has not announced when exactly this game will be released, it will tie in to the upcoming movie sequel Transformers: Age of Extinction. An Activision rep revealed that the game is, “marrying two different universes, the Tranformers Cybertron universe and the Michael Bay Transformers universe,” with players getting to experience characters from both environments.
Users can play as Autobots or Decepticons, including characters such as the Dinobot Grimlock in single-player mode, while the multi-player mode, a.k.a. Extinction Mode, is a horde-based combat scenario with over 40 characters to choose from. The multi-player and single versions will be linked together, meaning the power-ups and rank ups a player receives in one mode, will carry over to the other.
Transformers: Age of Extinction comes to theaters June 27th, 2014 and stars Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Bingbing Li, T.J. Miller. The film is directed by Michael Bay.
